The DH “Sandbox Experience”

The “Sandbox Experience” is an incubator for digital humanities projects that encourages faculty and staff  to tinker, explore, play, build, or research using digital tools and methods.  The concept is simple: participants declare their desire to work for a semester on a DH project, research, or scholarship. The Dean approves the request. Participating faculty will then spend either a Spring or Fall semester doing the work, meeting three times a semester with other Sandbox participants to share ideas and learn from one another, and then present their research or project in an end-of-semester showcase.

Sandbox-eligible projects might include creating a website, blog, online resource, digital mapping project, infographic, or digital archive. Participants might use the experience to conduct research using digital tools or produce scholarship on the digital humanities. Participants join a community of fellow digital explorers. We hope you will join us in the Fall 2024 semester.
